SPECIAL MEETING

Members in attendance:  Chairman: David A. Martin (DM), Shirley A. Schofield (SS),

Gordon Hughes (GH), Susan Rich (SR), Vice Chair: Brent Gundlah     (BG)

Meeting began at 6:45 pm

1.) Preservation of  Town Records

· In attendance was G. Bailey (CPC), M. Chused (Clerk), J. Goldson (CPC Consultant), D. Martin (SHC), S. Schofield (SHC), S. Rich (SHC)

· General discussion was regarding how far back in years they should go to start the preservation process. The thought was 50 years, (1957 – backwards)

· The group asked that the SHC provide a letter of opinion as to the choice of years.

· SS made a motion that the preservation begin with documents 50 years and older. GH seconded and was Approved.

2.) Sharon Survey Proposals (Grant)

• General discussion regarding the four (4) proposals we received. All are very well qualified. Ultimately we reduced down to TTL, Ed Gordon, and Tim Orwig.
• SS made a motion to award the project to TTL, pending a discussion with them to determine who would be working directly on this project. The concern is the travel distance and if they live locally? SR will speak to MHC for their opinion.
• BG seconded the motion and it was Approved.

3.) Sharon Commons

• DM reported that he met with the PAL group at the site today. They walked the area in which Waymans’ was located. They are planning to research this area more closely. While on site a few small items appearing to be Native American were found.
